Description

  • Lead feature implementation from proposal and specification through implementation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify billing and invoicing inefficiencies and define solutions.
  • Participate in product decision-making and own projects end to end.
  • Review pull requests and help uphold code quality and maintainability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to the team.
  • Guide efforts to improve codebase health and reduce technical debt.
  • Translate business challenges into technical requirements and practical engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of new billing system features.
  • Help scale critical billing platforms to support future growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience, including experience in a senior or technical leadership role.
  • Experience as a backend engineer or full-stack engineer with a strong backend focus and willingness to work across the stack.
  • Experience with Go is preferred; experience with Python, Java, or Node.js is also relevant, with the ability to ramp up quickly in Go.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience developing solutions in the cloud and/or using cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment.
  • Experience leading technical projects from conception to deployment.
  • Bonus points for experience with cloud billing for AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Bonus points for experience with Google BigQuery.
