Description

  • Collaborate with product managers, backend engineers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver solutions for complex problems.
  • Own features from proposal through design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Propose product improvements and contribute to product-making decisions.
  • Write clean, maintainable code using engineering best practices.
  • Review peer code and help enforce code quality standards.
  • Improve and maintain the health of the codebase by addressing technical debt.
  • Provide early feedback during planning and discussion of upcoming work.
  • Work on core backend systems powering the PerfectScale data pipeline and business logic.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend development experience with Go, Java, Rust, or Python.
  • 3+ years of commercial Golang experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with high-traffic or high-load distributed systems and data pipelines.
  • Experience with databases, including relational and non-relational systems, performance tuning, schema design, and query optimization.
  • Experience developing enterprise-grade SaaS products, microservices, and containers.
  • Experience working with microservices and Docker containers.
  • Experience and interest in distributed systems design and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD.
  • Strong benchmarking and optimization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-organized, goal-oriented, and able to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Hands-on production experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Experience with data engineering, including streaming and batch processing, Spark, Trino, Iceberg, ClickHouse, or Parquet is a plus.
