Description

  • Serve as the senior technical lead for complex data engagements and own key architecture decisions.
  • Work with clients to understand business requirements, data landscapes, and technical challenges, translating them into scalable Google Cloud solutions.
  • Design architectures spanning data platforms, pipelines, modeling, integration, governance, security, and scalability.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to engineering teams and resolve complex implementation challenges.
  • Estimate required skills, resources, and timelines and develop clear technical proposals.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Cloud Architecture, and AI/ML teams on integrated solutions.
  • Establish architectural standards, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices across the Data practice.
  • Mentor engineers and architects and support data-focused solutioning and pre-sales discussions.

Requirements

  • Deep experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data architectures in complex cloud environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud data services, particularly BigQuery.
  • Advanced SQL and strong Python skills.
  • Experience with modern data engineering and orchestration tools such as dbt and Airflow/Cloud Composer.
  • Experience designing scalable data platforms, pipelines, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, quality, lineage, and observability.
  • Experience leading large-scale data modernization and transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to translate business and data requirements into technical vision, architecture, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to balance architecture with hands-on execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; consulting or cloud partner experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be based in the UK; London is preferred.
