Description

  • Own the roadmap, architecture, and operational health of the Risk, Trust & Vault domain.
  • Translate business goals into versioned APIs and event-driven architectures for fraud screening, card vaulting, account updating, and portfolio migration.
  • Define the strategy for moving platform capabilities toward low-code or no-code onboarding and autonomous fraud screening.
  • Lead an autonomous cross-functional pod and partner with engineers, Staff Engineers, and the CTO Office.
  • Drive production reliability and bank-grade resilience through a strong quality and stability culture.
  • Champion a You Build It, You Run It operating model and ensure end-to-end ownership of services in production.
  • Prioritize ambiguous work using the RICE framework and balance architecture with business opportunity.
  • Ensure designs support multi-tenancy, elastic scaling, and automated observability.
  • Manage dependencies across multiple domains and unblock engineering execution.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs and delivery plans to executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven platforms, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Experience with cloud-native/serverless systems, Kotlin or Go, and gRPC or REST.
  • Proven experience building foundational platform capabilities or complex distributed systems.
  • Experience with fraud/risk engines, tokenization, or PCI-scoped infrastructure is preferred.
  • Track record of driving delivery velocity, unblocking engineering teams, and managing dependencies across 11 domains.
  • Experience optimizing DORA metrics.
  • Ability to lead architectural discussions and translate growth goals into technical requirements.
  • Preference for clean, modular architecture over monolithic shortcuts.
  • Working knowledge of fraud/risk scoring models, PCI DSS card vaulting requirements, tokenization standards, and account updater services is preferred.
  • Senior-level experience is required.
