Description

  • Own the technical strategy and architecture for authentication, authorization, and session management at scale.
  • Design and evolve OAuth 2.0/OIDC flows, token lifecycles, and security primitives.
  • Lead architectural decisions involving Ory, custom authentication methods, and the Auth API plugin architecture.
  • Drive high-availability, geo-distributed data residency, and zero-downtime migration from legacy Xsolla Login.
  • Review security-critical code and address systemic risks, vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Lead and mentor a backend team of up to eight engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
  • Manage team workload, delivery predictability, and multi-quarter technical initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product, Frontend, DevOps, Security, and dependent product teams on roadmap and priorities.
  • Report on platform security, reliability, and team progress.
  • Maintain hands-on contributions to critical security features.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial Go experience, or 7+ years with other backend languages plus Go proficiency.
  • Deep expertise in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, IAM systems, JWT, token management, and session management.
  • Knowledge of password hashing, secure storage, cookie security, CSRF, XSS, TLS, and OWASP practices.
  • Strong MySQL/PostgreSQL and Redis experience, including schema design, optimization, and large-scale migrations.
  • Experience designing distributed, highly available systems with 99.9%+ uptime requirements.
  • Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of engineering team leadership experience and a record of delivering mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with security-focused code reviews, technical documentation, cross-team influence, and balancing security with delivery.
  • Preferred: experience with Ory, CockroachDB, NATS/Kafka, WebAuthn/FIDO2, Web3 authentication, SCIM/SAML/SSO, or large-scale identity migrations.
  • Preferred: background in fintech, payments, gaming, platform engineering, IAM compliance, open-source security, or modern AI-assisted development tools.
