Description

  • Own automotive program performance across cost, quality, delivery, capacity, timing, and growth objectives.
  • Establish program governance, operating cadences, customer reviews, and portfolio reporting.
  • Develop production opportunities within existing OEM, Tier 1, and Tier 2 accounts and own the segment growth target.
  • Lead APQP activities from award through tooling, validation, PPAP, run-at-rate, and start of production.
  • Manage program timelines, PPAP deliverables, safe-launch requirements, customer-controlled shipping, and 8D corrective actions.
  • Qualify automotive manufacturing partners and drive performance against delivery, PPM, cost, capacity, and quality targets.
  • Develop contingency and dual-source strategies and lead recovery when partner performance creates risk.
  • Manage, coach, and develop program managers while standardizing automotive program practices and playbooks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive program management, launch, supplier quality, or manufacturing operations.
  • 2+ years of direct people leadership experience or demonstrated leadership of program teams.
  • Working expertise in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, MSA, SPC, and 8D problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Track record of launching automotive programs from award through SOP.
  • Experience managing supplier or contract manufacturer relationships and performance.
  • Strong executive-level written, verbal, and presentation skills with a structured, data-driven approach.
  • Remote work with preference for Midwest or Southeast automotive corridors and approximately 30–40% travel.
  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship; preferred experience includes OEM or Tier 1 work, EV or battery programs, ERP/PLM tools, PMP/Six Sigma/Lean certification, or contract manufacturing marketplaces.
