Description

Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI agents that automate repetitive investment workflows.
Identify opportunities where AI can save the team time and improve decision quality.
Train and upskill the broader team on effective AI tool usage and workflows.
Develop a long-term AI productivity roadmap for the fund.
Proactively source and screen investment opportunities through market research and startup ecosystem networking.
Conduct due diligence on potential investments, including technology, financial, market, and risk analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic fit and potential impact on Toyota’s long-term goals.
Develop and maintain financial models to assess viability and potential returns of investments.
Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Monitor portfolio company performance, provide strategic guidance, and support board-related activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with an MBA, or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
5+ years of professional experience in investment banking, venture capital, strategic consulting, building technology, and/or product management.
Demonstrated hands-on experience building and experimenting with cutting-edge AI technologies.
Strong experience in deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and market analysis.
Demonstrated passion for technology, venture capital, startups, and entrepreneurship.
Comfort with understanding technology innovations in deep tech and hard tech sectors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
Patience in working across different cultures, languages, decision-making styles, and time zones.
Preferred: knowledge of mobility, autonomous mobility, software development, EVs/batteries, electrification, and clean energy industries.
Preferred: experience working, studying, or living in different cultures and geographies.
Preferred: extensive network in the startup and VC ecosystem.
Preferred: bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and an MBA.
Preferred: experience co-founding a startup.

Base salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 per year for Palo Alto, CA-based positions.
