Description

  • Grow membership through in-person events, texting, calling, digital organizing, and regional outreach.
  • Lead in-person and virtual programs that welcome new members and develop them into active participants.
  • Build an activist base supporting electoral priorities in the assigned region.
  • Develop political and community landscape analysis for the region.
  • Recruit and lead canvasses, phone banks, and text-bank events for endorsed candidates.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and allied campaign staff using organizing tools.
  • Evaluate organizing and electoral programs and adjust methods based on regional conditions.
  • Meet party-building and organizing goals for the assigned region.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of in-person or virtual electoral, campaign, or neighborhood-based organizing experience.
  • Commitment to social, economic, and racial justice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizing, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage potential activists and supporters effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with strong follow-through, self-direction, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage project logistics, paperwork, deadlines, and technical requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, peers, public officials, and allies.
  • Experience in grassroots nonprofit, labor, or political organizing preferred; Spanish fluency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with VAN or voter-file data and tools such as Spoke, PDI, Scale to Win, Mobilize, Hubdialer, Thrutalk, Upland/Mobile Commons, Action Network, EveryAction, and social media platforms preferred.
  • Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills and political judgment preferred.
  • Must reside in Michigan’s Congressional District 3 or be willing to relocate; must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
