Description

  • Collaborate with the Aviation Market Director and national aviation staff to deliver team goals.
  • Lead business growth for aviation planning and design services by building new and existing business opportunities across the U.S.
  • Develop partnerships with other aviation consultants to win and deliver projects.
  • Guide practice growth using emerging trends, technologies, policies, and funding sources.
  • Maintain a thought-leader and subject matter expert presence through strong customer service to clients and prospects.
  • Coordinate collaboration between project managers and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Manage and forecast practice metrics including backlog, profit and loss, sales, net revenue, utilization, continuing education, and non-billable travel and expenses.
  • Lead and support shortlist presentations for prospective clients and participate in contract negotiations.
  • Review project documentation and quality-check work plans through final deliverables.
  • Support and promote other Woolpert markets and practices in the market area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience leading and developing statewide transportation systems, planning, and design projects, preferably in aviation.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Subject matter expertise in aviation or airfield planning/design, including areas such as airfields, vertical facilities, airport layout plans, master plans, instrument approaches, civil grading, drainage, utilities, pavements, airfield lighting, navigational aids, facility planning studies, and site development.
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA planning and design advisory circulars.
  • Experience with public-private partnerships, Geographic Information Systems, and asset management is preferred.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong business acumen and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to industry changes and internal initiatives.
  • Must already have work authorization in the country where the job is located; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Must be able to travel 50% to clients, conferences, and other Woolpert offices.
