Description

  • Manage prior authorizations for vascular surgery procedures and related imaging studies.
  • Submit, track, and update radiology authorizations for CT, MRI, MRA, CTA, and ultrasound requests.
  • Prepare authorization letters and supporting documentation for insurance submissions.
  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding approvals, denials, modifications, and status updates.
  • Handle TriWest and veteran authorization requests.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, HMO referrals, and referral follow-ups.
  • Review patient notes, identify CPT codes, and generate patient cost estimates.
  • Verify copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses and assist with billing inquiries.
  • Process medical record requests and ensure imaging, lab, and clinical records are received before appointments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR/EMR system and respond to authorization-related requests promptly.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with prior authorizations is required.
  • Extensive experience with insurance verification and benefits verification is required.
  • Experience managing HMO referrals and authorization workflows is required.
  • Strong understanding of CPT codes and medical billing processes is required.
  • Experience working with U.S. healthcare practices is required.
  • Healthcare administrative experience is required.
  • Experience with vascular surgery, specialty care, or radiology authorizations is highly preferred.
  • Previous virtual assistant experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of prior authorization processes and radiology authorizations for CT, MRI, MRA, CTA, and ultrasound.
  • Ability to review clinical notes and gather supporting documentation for authorizations.
  • Experience with patient estimates, insurance benefit verification, and EHR/EMR systems.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple authorization requests simultaneously and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills with insurance companies, providers, nurses, and patients.
  • Must speak and write English very clearly.
  • Must be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding.
  • Must be available for video meetings with camera on when needed.
  • Reliable laptop or desktop computer, high-speed internet of at least 25 Mbps, noise-canceling headset, webcam, and quiet professional workspace are required.
