Description

  • Copy-edit, translate, review, and validate complex patent and legal materials from English into Spanish.
  • Lead linguistic delivery for assigned accounts, including work completed by internal teams and external partners.
  • Maintain glossaries, style guides, work instructions, and other language resources to required quality standards.
  • Manage project queries and resolve terminology and language-related questions.
  • Coordinate internal linguists, freelancers, and agencies on assigned projects.
  • Test, qualify, train, and develop freelancers, vendors, and internal linguists.
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters and support solutions that meet legal requirements.
  • Participate in quality initiatives, error arbitration, and process improvement efforts.
  • Meet productivity, on-time delivery, quality, budget, and team performance targets.

Requirements

  • Native-level Spanish and fluent written and spoken English.
  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or equivalent experience; equivalent pathways include another degree plus 2 years of full-time translation experience or 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
  • 5+ years of review experience.
  • Patent translation experience and patent-domain knowledge, including areas such as computer science, mechanics, biology, electricity, pharmacy, or chemistry.
  • Thorough understanding of localization processes and terminology across subject areas.
  • Experience with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Studio, plus issue-tracking and query-management tools such as JIRA.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new localization tools quickly.
  • Ability to coordinate translators, provide constructive feedback, train others, and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, solve practical problems, and collaborate effectively in virtual teams.
