Description

  • Perform copy-editing and on-demand Russian translation for assigned projects and accounts
  • Serve as lead linguist and own the quality of deliveries produced internally and by external partners
  • Create, maintain, and update glossaries, style guides, and work instructions
  • Manage project queries and resolve terminology and language issues
  • Coordinate internal linguists, freelancers, and agencies on assigned work
  • Test and qualify new freelancers and language vendors
  • Train internal linguists and freelancers on account requirements and company standards
  • Consult with clients on linguistic matters and support workflow improvements
  • Meet productivity, on-time delivery, and quality performance targets
  • Participate in quality initiatives, including editing and error arbitration

Requirements

  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • Native-level Russian proficiency and fluent written and spoken English
  • 8+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing
  • 5+ years of experience in linguistic review and copy-editing
  • Thorough understanding of localization processes
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, including intellectual property, patents, agreements, trademarks, copyright, and IP litigation
  • Experience serving as a subject-matter expert for content specialties, service lines, and processes
  • Proficiency with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Trados Studio, plus tools such as JIRA
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn new localization tools
  • Ability to coordinate translators, provide constructive feedback, train others, communicate with clients, and work to tight deadlines in a virtual team
