Description

  • Perform copy-editing tasks on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Perform on-demand translation tasks.
  • Serve as lead linguist on assigned accounts and take ownership of deliveries.
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain glossaries, style guides, and work instructions to required quality standards.
  • Manage project-related queries and resolve terminology and language questions.
  • Coordinate with freelancers, agencies, and internal linguists on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Test and qualify new freelancers and vendors as needed.
  • Train and develop internal linguists and freelancers to meet account and company needs.
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters as required.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and help meet productivity, quality, and on-time delivery KPIs.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in patent translation for Electricity, Computer Science, Chemistry, or Biology.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Native fluency in the target language, Latin American Spanish Mexico.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
  • 5+ years of review experience.
  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent user experience with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Studio.
  • Experience with issue tracking and query management tools such as JIRA.
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process and terminology across multiple subject matters.
  • Experience working in an IP law firm or with patent knowledge is a plus.
