Description

  • Proofread and edit content localized into the target language to catch grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, spacing, and consistency issues.
  • Translate content from English into the target language when needed.
  • Check user interfaces for functional issues and report defects.
  • Write and report bugs and errors using internal and client-specific bug tracking tools.
  • Follow testing instructions, test cases, quality standards, style guides, trademarks, and client checklists and glossaries.
  • Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
  • Research and resolve linguistic questions and serve as a subject matter expert for target-language issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems and escalate testing issues effectively.
  • Prioritize tasks and complete assigned work on time and with high quality.
  • Collaborate in a multicultural, international team and communicate clearly in written and oral form.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Native-level or fully bilingual fluency in the required language(s), spoken and written.
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
  • 3+ years of professional translation and localization experience.
  • Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in the target language.
  • Experience with MS applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate networks and websites using different browsers.
  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware, including desktop and laptop devices.
  • Basic knowledge of smartphones and familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with native culture and trends; experience with consumer devices and social media platforms such as the Facebook family of apps is preferred.
  • Localization, QA, or translation experience, or advanced computer skills, are preferred.
