Description

  • Proofread and edit content localized into the native language to catch grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, spacing, and consistency errors.
  • Translate content from English into the native language when needed.
  • Check user interfaces for functional issues and report findings.
  • Write and submit bugs and errors using internal database and client bug-tracking tools.
  • Follow testing instructions and test cases accurately across products.
  • Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
  • Research and resolve linguistic questions as a subject matter expert for the target language.
  • Adhere to project-specific quality standards, style guides, trademarks, checklists, and glossaries.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate testing problems effectively.
  • Complete assigned tasks on time while maintaining high quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Native-level or fully bilingual fluency in the required language, both spoken and written.
  • Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
  • Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in the target language.
  • 3+ years of professional translation and localization experience.
  • Experience with MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate networks and websites using different browsers.
  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware, including desktop and laptop systems.
  • Basic knowledge of smartphones and familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with native culture and trends, plus experience with consumer devices such as messaging, health, fitness, calendar, or organization tools.
  • Avid social media user with familiarity with the Facebook Family of Apps.
  • Experience in localization, QA, or translation, or advanced computer skills, is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of deliverables.
