Description

  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time, including payroll data uploads, personnel record maintenance, and complex deductions such as levies and garnishments.
  • Own equity-related payroll activities, including taxation of stock options, RSUs, and ESPP.
  • Lead payroll processing for tax mobility and ensure compliance across varying tax jurisdictions.
  • Partner with the payroll provider to ensure accurate tax returns, amendments, and year-end reconciliations.
  • Audit payroll provider work and prepare and review payroll and tax amendments for accuracy.
  • Resolve state tax notices and inquiries by communicating directly with state agencies.
  • Support payroll-related audit requests and prepare large-scale data mappings and specialized management reports on payroll costs and tax liabilities.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and ensure proper accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP.
  • Collaborate with Human Strategy and vendors to resolve employee payroll issues and streamline workflows through technology and automation.
  • Research and resolve payroll-related issues and other assigned payroll tasks.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in payroll or related accounting/finance roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as Namely, ADP, or Dayforce preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, NetSuite, Bill.com, and Expensify or similar systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for using technology to improve business processes and a collaborative, customer-centric approach.
