Description

  • Run the full payroll cycle for 500+ employees, from data intake through approval and funding.
  • Enter payroll transactions, including hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and off-cycle payments.
  • Maintain accurate employee pay, tax, direct deposit, and deduction records in UKG.
  • Conduct payroll audits and variance reviews, resolving discrepancies before finalization.
  • Process manual, off-cycle, and final paychecks in accordance with state requirements.
  • Manage state and local payroll tax registrations, filings, reconciliations, notices, and year-end W-2 activities.
  • Support Rippling implementation through data migration, parallel runs, testing, reconciliation, and process documentation.
  • Help close the former entity across operating states, including tax account closures, final filings, remittances, and status tracking.
  • Respond to employee and manager payroll questions accurately and promptly.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of progressive payroll experience, including end-to-end processing for 500+ employees.
  • Hands-on experience running payroll in UKG Pro.
  • Multi-state payroll experience, including tax registrations, filings, and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including final-pay rules.
  • Experience reconciling payroll registers, tax filings, and general ledger entries.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, and ability to meet fixed payroll deadlines.
  • Experience with Rippling or another payroll system implementation or conversion preferred.
  • Experience closing entities and payroll tax accounts across multiple states preferred.
