Description

  • Define the long-term vision and roadmap for Wave’s Risk and Payment Operations Platform.
  • Establish a unified strategy for operational workflows, decisioning, case management, controls, and automation.
  • Build internal systems that help teams investigate, review, approve, monitor, and manage customer activity.
  • Improve workflows across risk reviews, compliance processes, fraud investigations, holds, reserves, disputes, and escalations.
  • Create reusable platform capabilities and services that support multiple operational use cases across the business.
  • Partner with Engineering and Data to establish scalable infrastructure for operational decision-making.
  • Ensure the platform is observable, measurable, and continuously improving.
  • Advocate for customer experience within operational and risk-related workflows.
  • Partner with Support and Customer Success to improve communication and resolution experiences.
  • Align stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Support, and Data, and communicate progress to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in high-growth fintech or through critical scaling phases.
  • Deep expertise in payments, financial operations, and SMB-specific risk challenges in payments or payroll.
  • Experience applying machine learning or AI-based approaches to fraud detection, mitigation, and automated decisioning.
  • Demonstrated success building complex systems from the ground up in SaaS, payments, or highly operational environments.
  • Experience designing and launching platform infrastructure, case management systems, workflow engines, and operational tooling.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to design end-to-end workflows and implement process automation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience aligning engineering, product, and operational teams.
  • Thorough understanding of compliance-driven requirements and industry standards such as AML, PCI-DSS, and NACHA.
