Description

  • Process multi-state and multi-country payroll accurately and on time, including variable pay, supplemental runs, stock-related pay, and tax deposits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, Canadian, and provincial payroll and labor regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external payroll providers, brokers, vendors, accounting firms, and other partners.
  • Maintain payroll records, process adjustments, and resolve payroll-related questions promptly.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits and related documentation.
  • Oversee HR administration tasks, including onboarding, health insurance setup, open enrollment, and policy implementation.
  • Serve as the main contact for employee questions about salary, benefits, and employment policies.
  • Administer benefits programs such as health and retirement plans, leave programs, and disability/workers’ compensation claims.
  • Support HR policy design and implementation in alignment with company objectives and local laws.
  • Collaborate with global HR and finance teams to align payroll and HR practices across regions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in global payroll management, with a strong focus on the US and Canada.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field.
  • US payroll certification: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional).
  • Canada payroll certification: CPP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager), plus any other HR certification such as PHR or CPHR.
  • Deep understanding of US and Canadian tax regulations and employment laws.
  • Experience with major payroll and HR systems such as Workday, Gusto, or ADP Workforce Now.
  • Strong Google Sheets knowledge, analytical skills, and flux analysis experience.
  • Proven ability to solve complex payroll and HR issues while maintaining compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high sense of ownership.
  • Bonus points for equity compensation and expat payroll knowledge, global mobility and relocation experience, benefits management outside the US, exposure to payroll in European or African countries, or experience with BambooHR, Insperity, Dayforce, or Payslip.
  • Must be based in the Eastern Time Zone, USA.
