Description

  • Bridge research and production by building AI models and agent systems that ship into real products.
  • Architect and deploy autonomous voice and digital agents for customer support at scale.
  • Build systems that perform reliably in challenging environments such as poor connectivity, low literacy, and low-resource languages.
  • Experiment with, evaluate, and integrate the latest voice and text models.
  • Own projects end-to-end, from problem discovery through production deployment and monitoring.
  • Work alongside product and engineering leaders to deliver customer impact.
  • Design AI systems and solve ambiguous problems without detailed specifications.
  • Develop evaluation approaches to measure hallucinations, groundedness, and system trustworthiness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML.
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs or AI systems, including prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, safety, and guardrails.
  • Strong foundations in statistics and machine learning theory.
  • Solid Python and backend engineering skills.
  • Track record taking AI/ML systems from prototype to production with attention to reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Fluency with AI coding agents; experience deploying them in production systems is a plus.
  • Research background in speech or LLMs is preferred.
  • Voice AI experience, including ASR, TTS, latency optimization, real-time streaming, or voice agents, is preferred.
  • Experience building customer support or conversational AI systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with low-resource language challenges is preferred.
  • Experience building in high-risk agent environments such as finance is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; bilingual French is a strong bonus.
  • Prior experience with Python 3, GraphQL, Kotlin/Jetpack, Swift/SwiftUI, TypeScript/React, Postgres/CockroachDB, GCP/Terraform, or Kubernetes is a strong plus but not required.
  • Must be based in a talent hub country or operating market, including the US, UK, Spain, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, or Burkina Faso.
  • Must be willing to travel to an operational market at least once a year.
