Description

  • Oversee bank accounts and payments for vendors, projects, intercompany activities, payroll, and reimbursements.
  • Manage liquidity, reserve balances, cash-flow monitoring, and forecasting.
  • Maintain relationships with banking partners, auditors, and tax advisors.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for management, the parent company, and governing bodies.
  • Oversee daily and period-end accounting close processes with a third-party accounting provider.
  • Establish and enforce finance procedures and internal controls, including capitalization of project expenses.
  • Collaborate with Water.org on financial statement consolidation and related finance activities.
  • Prepare annual tax filings and ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
  • Support the annual external audit and respond to auditor requests.
  • Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including treasury, financial reporting, and close processes.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CMA, CA, or ACCA, or equivalent expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS, including multi-entity or parent-subsidiary consolidation.
  • Experience managing banking relationships, treasury operations, and liquidity or cash management.
  • Experience working with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies, including international tax considerations.
  • Ability to design, implement, and enforce accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently across global, multicultural teams.
  • Preferred experience in infrastructure finance, international transactions, multi-currency accounting, or international entity reporting; professional English proficiency and commitment to social and environmental impact required.
  • Must be based in the Eastern or Central time zone, able to collaborate across time zones, and willing to travel up to 10%; no visa sponsorship or work permit reimbursement.
