Description

  • Design and implement scalable backend services in Node.js and TypeScript for economic and transactional systems.
  • Ensure transactional integrity, correctness, auditability, and reliability in high-volume payment and monetization flows.
  • Model and maintain digital ownership, entitlements, wallets, payouts, and subscription structures.
  • Build and evolve systems for first-party and creator-driven digital content, marketplaces, and purchase flows.
  • Develop reliable economic event, reporting, and analytics systems with strong traceability and reconciliation accuracy.
  • Contribute to fraud detection and prevention capabilities.
  • Own services end-to-end through development, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Improve CI/CD reliability, release safety, observability, and infrastructure practices, including Docker and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and lead technical initiatives across the economy stack.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, Finance, Trust & Safety, Infrastructure, and other engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience for SaaS, fintech, marketplaces, or online platforms.
  • Deep proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • Experience managing message queues, caching strategies, and WebSocket systems.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining external integrations, such as payment vendors or fintech platforms.
  • Strong understanding of profiling, optimization tradeoffs, and observability.
  • Experience operating under PCI DSS, GDPR, and PII requirements.
  • Experience building subscription engines, marketplaces, accounting systems, or invoicing workflows.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with event-driven or high-throughput transactional systems is preferred.
  • Experience integrating with Steam, Oculus, Apple, or Google Play payment systems is preferred.
  • Experience leading large-scale refactors or architectural migrations is preferred.
