Description

  • Lead the application data model and access patterns across Aurora and DynamoDB as the platform scales.
  • Define data integration contracts and workflows with the data warehouse while keeping it out of the request path.
  • Establish API contracts with the front-end engineering lead.
  • Own the reliability, performance, and cost of back-end services in partnership with DevOps.
  • Partner with data science teams to productionize models and recommendation features.
  • Hire, lead, and develop back-end and data engineers while setting standards for code quality and CI testing.
  • Set standards for agentic and AI-assisted coding and determine when human review is required.
  • Partner with product and design teams on problem definition, scope, and delivery sequencing.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of back-end or full-stack engineering experience, including 2+ years leading a team.
  • Experience leading data models and access patterns for B2B or enterprise products at meaningful scale.
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, preferably Aurora and DynamoDB.
  • Track record of hiring and developing engineers and creating technical interview processes.
  • Experience reviewing and directing agentic or AI-assisted coding.
  • Experience partnering with data science or machine learning teams to deploy models in production.
  • Fluency defining and maintaining API contracts across team boundaries.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving, small engineering organizations.
  • Adaptability, resilience, proactive prioritization, organization, and resourcefulness.
  • Pharmaceutical, healthcare professional marketing, ad technology, financial services marketing, or other regulated marketing data experience preferred.
