Description

  • Lead the technical direction for frontend product and infrastructure.
  • Represent engineering in close collaboration with product and design teams.
  • Mentor, nurture, and grow internal frontend capacity and talent.
  • Author, maintain, and support process documentation and exemplify frontend best practices.
  • Design and build customer-facing UIs and client-side web applications to manage distributed energy resources.
  • Develop and maintain API and middleware layers and work full‑stack on application and API layers for customer-facing and internal tools.
  • Apply product and design judgment to decide which customer-facing or internal tools to build.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a professional software engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience as a front-end developer.
  • Expertise in React and Redux, HTML/CSS, and ES2015+.
  • Experience with TDD and front-end testing frameworks.
  • Experience working on API/middleware and full‑stack application layers.
  • Familiarity with technologies in the stack: JavaScript, Python, Go, React, Flask, Goa, AWS, Docker, Nomad, Postgres, ClickHouse, Kafka.
  • Self-initiated, curious, passionate about product and design, and a strong collaborator who is empathetic and a force multiplier.
  • Previous experience with energy markets is a strong plus but not required.
  • Must be located within GMT-1 to GMT-9 (within 4 hours of US Eastern Time), primarily working from their home country as required by Voltus policies, and authorized to work in the US or Canada; Voltus does not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires.

Benefits

  • Base pay $170,000–$190,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
  • 10–15% annual bonus and equity.
