Description

  • Own canonical data models, service boundaries, and architecture for critical platform domains.
  • Design AWS-native, event-driven, asynchronous services that are scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-efficient.
  • Architect backend capabilities that support AI/ML workloads, high-throughput data pipelines, and inference services.
  • Design secure multi-tenant systems with tenant isolation, authentication, authorization, and permission-aware data access.
  • Lead major platform initiatives from technical design through release and align stakeholders across teams.
  • Develop versioned, deterministic, idempotent APIs, including bulk and asynchronous operations, contract testing, and permission validation.
  • Champion infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and modern engineering practices.
  • Drive platform modernization, refactoring, developer-experience improvements, and engineering-process improvements.
  • Partner with CloudOps, Security, MLOps, and integration teams on reliability and operational-readiness standards.
  • Mentor engineers and serve as a technical multiplier across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, software or electrical/electronics engineering, or a comparable field.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years at staff level.
  • Demonstrated success leading architecture decisions and technical direction across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • Experience owning significant initiatives end to end, including release ownership.
  • Strong Python experience building backend and cloud services; Java experience is a plus.
  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating enterprise-grade distributed systems on AWS.
  • Strong data modeling, service architecture, and reusable abstraction design skills.
  • Experience with high-throughput data pipelines, asynchronous processing, or ML/inference services at scale.
  • Knowledge of application security and multi-tenancy, including authentication, authorization, token handling, and tenant isolation.
  • Experience designing high-scale APIs, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and distributed-systems observability.
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into engineering and product design.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Preferred: AI/ML product features, third-party SaaS integrations, search and retrieval systems, or CLM and enterprise B2B domain experience.
