Description

  • Design, build, test, and deploy Shopify apps and features from architecture through App Store submission.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications by resolving defects, production incidents, and technical debt.
  • Write clean, documented code and contribute clear pull requests for team collaboration.
  • Monitor Shopify API releases, deprecations, sunsets, limits, and review requirements to manage technical risks and delivery timelines.
  • Apply SEO and AEO best practices to apps and storefront code, including crawling, indexing, and site speed considerations.
  • Troubleshoot client websites and app data flows, including Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager tracking.
  • Collaborate with global development teams on code reviews, releases, and cross-time-zone coordination.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and technical insights to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project scoping and document requirements, architecture decisions, and risks.
  • Use AI coding assistants and automation tools responsibly while maintaining security standards.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience building and shipping production Shopify apps.
  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and relational database design.
  • Experience with Shopify CLI, React Router, App Bridge, and Polaris.
  • Working knowledge of GraphQL, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and webhooks.
  • Experience with Liquid and Online Store 2.0 themes.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows, automated testing, and cloud deployment platforms.
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals, site architecture, and data tracking tools.
  • Preferred: agency experience, Shopify App Store launches, Shopify Plus or Hydrogen, other eCommerce platforms, Prisma, Docker, or Figma.
