Description

  • Lead technical discovery, scoping, and execution of complex features in collaboration with Product, Design, QA, and business stakeholders.
  • Own features end-to-end by breaking large initiatives into engineering milestones and driving delivery.
  • Communicate complex technical challenges clearly to non-technical partners and translate them into business outcomes.
  • Champion engineering standards through code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentorship of junior engineers.
  • Build and maintain frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and React Query.
  • Support and contribute to React Native mobile applications.
  • Design, build, and optimize REST APIs using Django REST Framework.
  • Develop clean database models, schemas, and complex migrations.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and scale production services on Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform using Datadog and logging best practices.
  • Use Claude and Claude Code to accelerate development workflows and build automated features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of leading technical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong product and design intuition, with the ability to build and refine interfaces independently.
  • Deep expertise in Python, Django models, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
  • Strong experience with modern React, TypeScript, and React Query.
  • Experience writing optimized queries, designing schemas, and managing database migrations.
  • Experience using Claude and Claude Code to write, test, refactor, and optimize code.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build consensus across teams.
  • Preferred: experience in healthcare technology, HIPAA compliance, or digital health platforms.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with React Native, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure such as GCP or AWS.
  • Preferred: experience with event-driven architectures, Celery, Pub/Sub, or RabbitMQ.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work from a state where Vida is registered; no visa sponsorship is available.
