Description

  • Contribute to data ingestion, transformation, canonical data modeling, entity resolution, event infrastructure, configuration as code, and API and serving layers.
  • Improve DevOps and platform reliability through CI/CD, infrastructure as code, environment management, observability, and service level objectives.
  • Partner with Security and IT on data classification, access controls, secrets management, key management, HIPAA, and HITRUST controls.
  • Build the AI/ML platform, including model serving, inference gateways, feature and training data pipelines, model registries, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and LLM integrations.
  • Protect PHI through controlled data boundaries, local or in-VPC inference where required, and safeguards against data leakage.
  • Raise AI/ML fluency across platform, security, and DevOps teams and establish reusable engineering patterns.
  • Perform additional platform and AI/ML engineering responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 7–10+ years of experience building and scaling production-grade machine learning or AI systems.
  • Generalist software engineering experience across backend, infrastructure, and data systems.
  • Hands-on experience deploying production AI/ML systems, including MLOps, model serving, inference infrastructure, feature pipelines, and data pipelines.
  • Strong cloud experience, preferably Google Cloud services such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and GKE; AWS or Azure equivalents are also welcome.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Terraform or similar tools, containers, Kubernetes, and production observability.
  • Strong data engineering skills with SQL, dbt or similar pipeline tooling, and data warehousing.
  • Security mindset and experience working with sensitive data in regulated environments; HIPAA or HITRUST familiarity is preferred.
  • Experience with LLM applications, including retrieval, evaluation, guardrails, and knowledge graphs.
  • Preferred experience with entity resolution, master data management, healthcare or regulated data, GraphQL or federated serving, and privacy-enhancing technologies.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship and reside in a state where Vida is authorized to operate.
