Description

  • Collaborate with Payments Engineering teams to define best practices, patterns, and standards for payments applications.
  • Work with the CTO, architects, product management, and engineering management to design holistic technology solutions.
  • Participate in the Tech Leads group to drive measurable outcomes, iterative delivery, and removal of roadblocks.
  • Produce clear architecture documents, blueprints, and decision records with context, tradeoffs, and rationale.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and production-ready code as needed.
  • Mentor engineers on architecture best practices and technical standards.
  • Contribute across the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Promote code quality through rigorous testing, automation, and code reviews.
  • Provide proactive feedback to improve product and engineering outcomes.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in software architecture, design, and development in a Cloud SaaS environment.
  • Extensive experience building highly available, reliable, and scalable SaaS applications or platforms.
  • Strong experience building backend API specifications, mocks, and service implementations.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices, CI/CD, GitOps, authentication and authorization, APIs, API gateways, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), Kafka (MSK), Java, Spring Framework, Python, and AWS services.
  • Strong experience with observability solutions using Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
  • Hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, configuration management, and release management.
  • Experience with payments technologies and ecosystem, including card networks and PSP integration, is highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment; visa sponsorship is not provided.
  • Applicants must currently live in one of the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, or Washington.
