Description

  • Lead multiple firmware teams responsible for the camera platform, including core firmware, imaging systems, and firmware delivery.
  • Partner with Hardware and Electrical Engineering teams on new product development from concept through mass production.
  • Co-design system architectures and provide early firmware requirements for board designs.
  • Evaluate new silicon, including SoCs and sensors, for next-generation camera products.
  • Oversee hardware bring-up, vendor SDK porting, low-level driver development, and OTA firmware update mechanisms.
  • Guide image quality efforts through ISP tuning, sensor integration, and optimization of the imaging and video encoding pipeline.
  • Own release tooling, deployment processes, CI/CD practices, and fleet health monitoring for large-scale firmware releases.
  • Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor firmware engineers and engineering managers.
  • Collaborate closely with Cloud, Product, and QA teams to define roadmap and deliver new capabilities.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on embedded software or firmware engineering experience.
  • Proven track record of shipping high-volume consumer or enterprise hardware products.
  • 4+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Experience managing other managers and leading organizations of 15+ engineers.
  • Technical expertise with Linux and C for embedded systems.
  • Experience with ISP tuning and image processing pipelines is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and fleet-wide release management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical decisions into business impact for executive stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with modern camera architectures and camera SoCs such as Ambarella, Qualcomm, or similar is preferred.
