Description

  • Design, build, and operate backend services for the Verification Platform, including the orchestration engine and automated decisioning pipeline.
  • Deliver orchestration capabilities such as multi-method flow execution, branching and fallback logic, and webhook integrations.
  • Improve resilience in production-critical systems through backpressure handling, idempotency, backward compatibility testing, SPOF elimination, and end-to-end monitoring.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortems to keep critical verification flows healthy.
  • Drive engineering quality through code reviews, CI practices, runbook documentation, and mentoring teammates.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building large-scale backend applications with Python.
  • Experience with event-driven and async architectures using message queues such as SQS or similar.
  • Proven ownership of production-critical services and comfort with on-call responsibilities.
  • Deep experience designing for resilience in distributed systems, including idempotency, backpressure, retries, and backward compatibility.
  • Strong understanding of modular design approaches and SOLID principles.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable, maintainable APIs.
  • Proficiency in multiple testing strategies that produce robust and reliable software.
  • Solid understanding of relational database fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with structured logging and observability practices.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical ideas to both engineers and non-engineers.
  • Nice to have: experience with workflow or orchestration engines, event-driven systems, Kubernetes, or identity verification domain knowledge.
