Description

  • Analyze gene expression, transcriptomic, and next-generation sequencing data to generate biological and clinical insights.
  • Apply statistical and machine-learning methods to large-scale clinical and research datasets, primarily from prostate cancer cohorts.
  • Design, train, and evaluate supervised and unsupervised machine learning models for disease subtype and endpoint prediction.
  • Develop clinically actionable genomic signatures across multiple disease areas.
  • Document methods, analyses, and results to support reproducibility and regulatory-grade research standards.
  • Translate research findings into presentations, abstracts, and publications for internal and external audiences.
  • Communicate results to scientists, clinicians, academic collaborators, and commercial partners.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support research initiatives that inform product development and scientific strategy.

Requirements

  • PhD in Cancer Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or a related field, or an M.Sc. with 3-4 years of relevant post-graduate experience (postdoc or industry).
  • Deep familiarity with cancer genomics, pathology, or clinical management; prostate cancer experience is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing transcriptomics and NGS data.
  • Expertise in R programming and data analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in feature reduction techniques and visualization methods such as U-MAP.
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms and model performance evaluation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing architecture; AWS is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting scientific results in collaborative settings.
  • Remote-friendly for candidates in the US or Canada; on-site office options available in South San Francisco or San Diego.
