Description

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and government-adjacent agreements such as NDAs, purchase orders, teaming agreements, consulting agreements, and subcontracts.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, including amendments, renewals, change orders, and close-out activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and government contracting frameworks such as FAR and DFARS.
  • Maintain organized contract files and support configuration management for contract documentation.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, and Program Managers to align contract terms and operational needs.
  • Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, checklists, and workflows.
  • Provide guidance on contract interpretation, obligations, and risk assessments.
  • Assist with due diligence, regulatory disclosures, and accountability documentation.
  • Track contract deliverables, reporting obligations, and milestones with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience working with commercial contracts in a government-facing or government-adjacent environment.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or another regulated sector with significant government interfaces.
  • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR, or similar regulatory structures.
  • Strong record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex matters with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism with confidential or sensitive information.
  • Prior in-house Legal or Contracts department experience supporting engineering, R&D, or government programs (preferred).
  • Contracts administration credentials such as DAWIA or NCMA certification (preferred).
  • Experience supporting rapid-growth or technology-driven organizations (preferred).
  • Familiarity with contract management systems and collaborative document workflows (preferred).
  • Houston, TX location preferred; remote candidates within the United States may be considered.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for required authorizations.
