Description

  • Own data sourcing, storage, access, and querying end to end.
  • Build the infrastructure, tooling, and dashboards that serve as the ground truth for company data.
  • Consolidate data access across financial statements, product metrics, and growth analysis.
  • Support experiment tracking by building systems that help Product monitor tests.
  • Identify strategic business and product questions and deliver analysis with clear caveats.
  • Build dashboards, self-serve analysis tools, data models, and reporting pipelines.
  • Partner with engineering, finance, marketing, product, and leadership on metrics and insights.
  • Instrument products thoughtfully to support decisions while minimizing unnecessary data collection.
  • Create robust metrics and analytical methods that work despite limited telemetry and fast product changes.
  • Assess existing warehouse and analytics tooling, identify gaps, and build missing capabilities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
  • Production-quality coding ability and strong fluency in SQL.
  • Experience building data pipelines, models, tooling, and analytics infrastructure.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and modern analytics stacks.
  • Experience with PostHog for product analytics and Postgres for storage and querying.
  • Familiarity with more than one of Venice's core languages: Rust, TypeScript, Go, and Python is a plus.
  • Experience working with messy, incomplete, or deliberately constrained data.
  • Ability to translate business questions into analysis and recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when presenting uncertainty to executive stakeholders.
  • Alignment with privacy-first data collection principles and ethical data practices.
