Description

  • Work closely with product engineers and designers to improve acquisition, activation, retention, monetization, and customer experience.
  • Partner with marketing, finance, and operations teams to identify growth opportunities and support better business decisions.
  • Support and promote experimentation and decision-making frameworks that enable fast, confident product iteration.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics that keep teams aligned on measurable outcomes.
  • Use statistical analysis, forecasting, causal inference, and machine learning to understand user behavior and business performance.
  • Proactively identify high-impact opportunities by analyzing user journeys, lifecycle behavior, conversion funnels, and financial performance.
  • Shape team and company priorities by providing data-driven perspectives on impact, trade-offs, and ROI.
  • Build dashboards, models, and self-service tools that improve visibility into growth and business performance.
  • Collaborate with the broader data team to maintain a shared, consistent data layer for stakeholders and internal users.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and evidence-based decision-making across Shakepay.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, growth analytics, experimentation, or a related role in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Deep understanding of experimentation, causal inference, statistical analysis, forecasting, and KPI design.
  • Strong product and business intuition with the ability to connect user behavior to business outcomes.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as marketing, finance, operations, or product.
  • Comfort operating independently and driving ambiguous projects from idea to execution.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence decisions through data and clear reasoning.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Curiosity, speed, and an action-oriented mindset in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong understanding of dashboarding and data visualization tools.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in startups or high-growth consumer companies (preferred).
  • Experience with experimentation and product analytics platforms such as PostHog, Statsig, or Amplitude (preferred).
  • Experience with dbt, Snowflake, and modern data stacks (preferred).
  • Experience with lifecycle marketing, customer segmentation, or growth modeling (preferred).
  • Existing Shakepay customer and/or familiarity with the product (preferred).
  • Interest and enthusiasm for Bitcoin and non-sovereign money (preferred).
  • English fluency is required.

Benefits

  • Base salary of CAD $150,000 to $200,000.
  • Equity through employee stock options.

  • Remote-friendly work from anywhere in Canada, with optional access to offices in Montreal and Toronto.
  • Annual $2,000 budget for courses, certifications, and training.
  • 20 days of vacation per year, plus a $1,000 bonus if all vacation days are used.
  • Parental leave top-up of up to 100% of salary for 18 weeks.
  • Quarterly team or company-wide outings.
