Description

  • Lead end-to-end development of user-centered metrics, from construct definition through survey design, validation, and experimental proof.
  • Partner with Data Science and Engineering to build behavioral proxies and predictive models when needed.
  • Extend measurement work into model stewardship, including retraining decisions, generalizability checks, and failure-mode analysis.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify the drivers and levers behind key metrics.
  • Set and execute a learning agenda by prioritizing the most important questions and choosing the right research methods.
  • Synthesize behavioral analyses, experiment results, qualitative insights, and independent work to inform product and business decisions.
  • Present findings to senior leadership and tailor communication for executive audiences.
  • Partner with research managers to set quantitative research direction and mentor junior quantitative researchers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of quantitative user research experience with large-scale consumer data.
  • Track record of leading metric development end-to-end, including construct definition, survey validation, experimental validation, and behavioral proxy or predictive modeling.
  • Deep expertise in survey methodology, including construct validity, reliability, and sensitivity.
  • Strong experience with statistical modeling, experimentation at scale, and behavioral analysis.
  • Experience informing ML model evaluation and maintenance, including retraining triggers, generalizability across segments, and known failure modes.
  • Fluency in R or Python and SQL, plus strong data visualization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a peer to Data Science and Engineering and guide technical work.
  • Experience working horizontally across teams, developing strategy with cross-functional partners, and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools in the research process with discernment and a high quality bar.
  • PhD preferred in computational social science, statistics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Base salary range of $163,639 to $336,903 USD for US-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Remote-friendly role with in-office collaboration required only 1-2 times every 6 months.
