Description

  • Design and evolve infrastructure and platform architecture for key products and services.
  • Drive a multi-year roadmap for reliability, security, and platform capabilities.
  • Establish reference architectures and golden paths for product and data teams.
  • Lead adoption of SRE practices, including SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, incident management, and post-incident reviews.
  • Design and maintain observability across services and infrastructure, including metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards.
  • Automate runbooks and self-healing mechanisms to reduce toil and improve MTTR.
  • Design and evolve self-service platform capabilities such as environments, CI/CD, and infrastructure templates.
  • Own and improve Infrastructure as Code and GitOps workflows.
  • Build reusable platform components and tools that standardize how services are built, deployed, and operated.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, and data teams to support secure infrastructure, compliance, and reliable data platforms.
  • Lead FinOps practices, cost optimization, and guardrails that balance cost and reliability.
  • Design resilience and recovery strategies, including backup/restore, disaster recovery, and regional failover.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider, with Azure preferred, at an architectural level.
  • Proven ability to design and operate highly available, secure, cloud-native systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms and related ecosystem tools.
  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Strong automation experience using Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including progressive delivery and safe rollback.
  • Strong understanding of SRE principles and hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/EFK, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud security best practices, IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, and encryption.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST.
  • Strong grasp of networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancers, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Experience supporting data platforms and pipelines in the cloud, with awareness of ML/AI infrastructure impacts on architecture and cost.
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and influence multiple teams without formal authority.
  • Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from design through rollout.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Passion for mentoring and coaching other engineers.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, making pragmatic decisions, and iterating as you learn.
