Description

  • Provide legal advice across all phases of real estate development projects, including acquisition, financing, construction, leasing, and disposition.
  • Advise on land and property acquisition, due diligence, entitlement, and permitting matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, development agreements, leases, construction contracts, and loan documents.
  • Support construction and design agreements, financing structures, and joint venture arrangements.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with real estate development projects.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on real estate laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams in development, finance, and construction.
  • Interface with external parties such as government agencies, lenders, investors, and consultants.
  • Stay current on legal developments and industry best practices in real estate development.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a reputable university or law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the country of residence.
  • Bachelor degree in Law.
  • 5+ years of experience in real estate law with a focus on development and transactions.
  • 2 years of experience in construction, real estate, or disputes.
  • Prior in-house experience with luxury real estate developers is highly desirable.
  • Property management experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of real estate development processes and regulations.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • English and Portuguese proficiency, with sufficient English to prepare agreements.
  • Dual-qualified lawyers, especially those also qualified in a common law jurisdiction, are strongly encouraged to apply.
