Description

  • Champion a platform-as-a-product mindset by gathering engineering feedback and improving the developer experience.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on Google Cloud.
  • Collaborate with developers to streamline local development and CI/CD workflows.
  • Evolve and maintain observability capabilities, including monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Implement secure-by-default patterns for networking, secrets management, IAM, and workload isolation.
  • Accelerate adoption of infrastructure-as-code and GitOps for consistent and auditable infrastructure changes.
  • Drive platform best practices and influence the engineering roadmap as the platform function grows.
  • Improve reliability and operational efficiency across product engineering teams.
  • Support internal platform adoption and enable engineering teams to ship more effectively.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience at tech-centric, ideally product-driven companies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Experience working on a major cloud platform, ideally Google Cloud.
  • Strong software engineering foundation with a developer-first mindset.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience improving developer experience through better tooling, streamlined workflows, and documentation-first practices.
  • Experience with relational database design, performance tuning, and operations at scale, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Experience scaling infrastructure for multi-region architectures and growing engineering teams is preferred.
  • Strong backend engineering skills, particularly in Go, are preferred.
  • Experience with cloud cost optimisation and identifying efficiency improvements is preferred.
  • Experience building internal platforms as products, including roadmap definition and developer enablement, is preferred.
  • Practical experience in product security and shifting security left is preferred.
