Description

  • Design, build, and maintain the core revenue data models in dbt, including ARR, pipeline, bookings, churn, expansion, retention, and attach rates.
  • Connect revenue models to customer, opportunity, and product context to support decision-making across the business.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations leaders to translate evolving needs into clear metric definitions and usable models.
  • Gather requirements by understanding the operational problem behind requests before writing SQL or building outputs.
  • Make pragmatic delivery decisions, balancing quick solutions with durable, governed data products when needed.
  • Write well-tested, well-documented, performant dbt models with clear naming, layering, and documentation conventions.
  • Build data products at the appropriate tier, from exploratory sandbox models to regulated, accuracy-critical models for Finance and executive reporting.
  • Work closely with Data Engineering on upstream data from CRM, billing, product, and finance systems.
  • Reconcile revenue figures to source systems, document edge cases, and ensure consistency across dashboards and board materials.
  • Support broader analytics needs over time, including potential assistance to Marketing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and owning analytics engineering or modeling work, with substantial experience in Revenue, Sales, or Customer Success domains within a B2B SaaS company.
  • Deep familiarity with B2B SaaS revenue metrics and schemas, including ARR, bookings, pipeline, opportunity lifecycle, churn, expansion, contraction, NRR, and GRR.
  • Strong hands-on experience modeling data from HubSpot and/or Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous requirements into well-structured dbt models, clear metric definitions, and actionable outputs.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how revenue metrics relate to business decisions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, including reconciliation, testing, documentation, and edge-case handling.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern data infrastructure, including BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar tools, plus a modern BI layer such as Looker or Omni.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical and metric decisions to stakeholders and engineers.
  • Australia-based and able to work in a fully remote setup with strong overlap across Sydney and Hobart hubs.
  • Preferred: experience in a high-growth SaaS business, especially through scale-up phases.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with Revenue Operations topics such as territory modeling, quota modeling, pipeline hygiene, forecast inputs, and comp data.
  • Preferred: exposure to forecasting workflows or conversational analytics surfaces.
  • Preferred: experience building models that bridge revenue analytics into FP&A.
  • Preferred: familiarity with adjacent systems such as billing platforms, product usage data, and customer success tools.
