Description

  • Verify hours, pay adjustments, timesheets, wage calculations, and deductions each pay period.
  • Enter payroll data, process employee payments, and issue earnings statements.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
  • Process certified payroll in compliance with Davis-Bacon, SCA, and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Support employees and managers with timekeeping systems and procedures.
  • Process onboarding, employee separations, employment verification, background checks, and final pay coordination.
  • Update employee demographic information, benefit elections, and workflows in the HRIS.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, confidential, and audit-ready employee and payroll records.
  • Monitor changes to payroll tax, deduction, final-pay, and employment regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of combined payroll processing and HR administration experience, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Experience processing multi-step payroll, including wage and deduction calculations, timekeeping review, and pay adjustments.
  • Experience with certified payroll and federal contractor requirements, including Davis-Bacon, SCA, and prevailing wages.
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax and deduction rules and employment laws such as FLSA, EEO, and ADA.
  • Experience with an HRIS, payroll, or timekeeping platform such as Paylocity, ADP, Workday, or UKG/Kronos.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, numerical problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information appropriately.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HR, business, accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Payroll or HR certification and experience with multi-state workforces or federal contractors preferred.
