Description

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, security, and control systems.
  • Install conduit, wiring, outlets, electrical panels, terminal boards, switches, wall boxes, cables, and power sources.
  • Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical systems and equipment using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Reassemble equipment after repairs and replace defective wiring, relays, fuses, and circuit breakers.
  • Read and follow schematics and manufacturers' specifications to locate and resolve problems.
  • Cut openings, drill holes, and measure and install frameworks and conduit for wiring and control systems.
  • Communicate with customers to determine the nature of malfunctions and estimate repair costs.
  • Maintain equipment service records and detailed documentation of electrical work performed.
  • Comply with insurance, safety, federal safety, and environmental requirements on all job sites.
  • Participate in internal and onsite meetings and attend ongoing technical and safety training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Virginia electrician license at the Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice level.
  • Current OSHA safety certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of field experience in low-voltage, security system installation, or integration.
  • Ability to work on classified or sensitive government facilities.
  • Ability to follow strict security protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
  • Knowledge of federal electrical standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and work in confined spaces while wearing PPE as needed.
