Description

  • Own the design, routing, and integration of electrical wire harnessing for the Terran R Avionics System from conception through qualification and production.
  • Design connectors, cables, and harness supports for the vehicle avionics system.
  • Collaborate with structures, electrical hardware, propulsion, and software teams to optimize avionics architecture and define requirements.
  • Use 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and electrical design tools to create detailed designs that account for production and test.
  • Validate designs through rapid prototyping and test campaigns to support flight readiness.
  • Support vehicle-level integration by defining avionics integration operations, checkouts, and test plans.
  • Work closely with avionics design, manufacturing, and test teams to enable rapid iteration and feedback.
  • Coordinate across propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure system integration and operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a full lifecycle design engineering role.
  • Experience with electrical harness design and mechanical routing in 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with integration and test of complex, multi-disciplinary electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with NX CAD and Teamcenter (preferred).
  • Experience with Zuken E3 electrical design software (preferred).
  • Experience with scripting or software development for hardware bring-up activities, such as Python, LabView, or C/C++ (preferred).
  • Experience developing electrical and mechanical test fixtures, tools, and production harnessing (preferred).
  • Experience working with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL or HITL) test systems (preferred).
