Description

  • Lead the technical conversion of target sites into Tier III / IV-ready data center facilities.
  • Manage external project managers, MEP engineers, fit-out contractors, and commissioning specialists.
  • Own the development program across scope, budget, milestones, risk management, and handover.
  • Coordinate with internal asset management and finance teams on capex approvals and drawdown schedules.
  • Oversee landlord obligations including power upgrades, planning consents, environmental permitting, and building regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to commercial negotiations, including heads of terms, lease structures, and pricing strategy.
  • Represent the company at European data center and real estate forums and events.
  • Contribute to go-to-market materials such as pitch decks, technical data packs, and capacity schedules.
  • Evaluate new acquisition targets for data center conversion viability based on power, fiber, structural, and planning factors.
  • Build relationships with Telco teams, utility companies, renewable energy providers, and municipal planning authorities.
  • Contribute to investment committee presentations and board-level strategy materials.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data center construction management, MEP infrastructure delivery, or critical facilities engineering.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale European projects from inception through commissioning.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing data center construction or fit-out projects, including MEP, power, cooling, and structured cabling.
  • Deep knowledge of European data center markets, including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Dublin, Madrid, Warsaw, Stockholm, and Milan.
  • Comfortable operating across multiple European jurisdictions, including planning, utilities, grid connections, and employment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build process from scratch and work effectively without a large support apparatus.
  • Strong technical understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, including N+1/2N redundancy architectures and liquid cooling integration.
  • Ability to oversee complex MEP retrofits and power-dense deployments.
  • Understanding of triple net leases, sale leasebacks, capital lease backs, PUE economics, power pricing, and data center capex modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional European language is a plus.
  • Preferred background in Telco infrastructure, tower companies, or real estate asset conversion.
  • Existing relationships with EU hyperscalers or Tier 1 colocation operators are preferred.
  • Experience working within a PE-backed growth business is preferred.
