Description

  • Administer and maintain Splunk platform components and ingestion pipelines to ensure reliable log collection and indexing.
  • Design and implement log management and parsing strategies for diverse data sources.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system (Windows/Linux), and network issues affecting Splunk ingestion and performance.
  • Automate deployment and configuration of Splunk infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Develop and maintain automation and integrations using scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, JS, SQL).
  • Integrate Splunk workflows with CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Concourse, GitHub Actions).
  • Deploy, configure, and operate Splunk in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and manage cloud-specific ingestion concerns.
  • Apply and align Splunk operations with security compliance frameworks and requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171 / 800-53).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with engineering, security, and operations teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
  • Continuously monitor the threat landscape and adapt ingestion/monitoring strategies to support security objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Splunk Administration experience.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, problem-solving skills, and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Windows and Linux operating system administration experience.
  • Hardware, software, and network-level troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Programming/scripting experience (examples: Python, PowerShell, Bash, Golang, JavaScript, SQL).
  • Experience with log management, parsing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Concourse, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and regulations such as NIST 800-171 or NIST 800-53.
  • Relevant certifications preferred: Splunk Architect, Splunk Administrator, Red Hat (RHCE or RHCSA), and cloud provider certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Prior DoD or FedRAMP experience is a plus.
