Description

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI agents and tools for clinical decision-making, administrative automation, and workflow improvement.
  • Explore and implement full-stack architecture for AI-agentic systems, including context engineering, MCP servers, API design, and deployment.
  • Architect and build scalable backend services and integrations using Python, Java Spring Boot, and SQL.
  • Collaborate with backend, mobile, AI, product, design, and clinical teams to translate needs into technical specifications and prototypes.
  • Champion reliable, secure, and scalable AI application practices, including HIPAA-compliant solutions.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers and help elevate team capabilities.
  • Monitor and optimize AI systems in production to support growth and a seamless user experience.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and travel regularly to Menlo Park for planning and collaboration sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in backend services.
  • Experience developing and deploying AI-powered applications using LLMs such as GPT, Claude, or Gemini.
  • Practical knowledge of prompt engineering, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and related LLM techniques.
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Python, with experience developing microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including query optimization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Experience in healthcare, biosensors, or related fields is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. for this remote U.S.-based role.
