Description

  • Own and deliver high-scale routing capabilities for Twilio Segment’s data platforms and pipelines.
  • Lead the development of high-scale ingestion and data processing systems.
  • Architect, operate, and maintain always-available distributed systems in cloud environments.
  • Guide technical decisions by evaluating trade-offs among cost, performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Champion team growth through mentorship and individual development.
  • Promote agile practices, continuous integration, and automation across the team.
  • Translate complex technical strategies into actionable plans for Product Managers, Architects, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 14+ years of engineering experience with at least 5+ years of proven software team management experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing multiple workstreams within a team.
  • Strong commitment to building an AI-centric engineering mindset and mentoring others on AI-enabled development platforms.
  • Technical depth in distributed systems, high-scale ingestion, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with high-scale messaging or streaming systems and processing engines handling several thousand events per second.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and operational excellence skills.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, prototyping, and deploying GenAI/LLM solutions to solve engineering or data processing challenges (preferred).
  • Expert programming experience in Go or similar object-oriented languages (preferred).
  • Experience with datastores, distributed caching, Docker/Kubernetes, modern CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, AWS infrastructure, AI/ML technologies, and geographically distributed teams (preferred).
