Description

  • Design and lead the implementation of scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure.
  • Own the reliability of services handling billions of weekly requests and define operational best practices and incident response.
  • Drive the evolution of Infrastructure as Code patterns using Terraform with an emphasis on modularity, security, reusability, and self-service.
  • Continuously optimize pipelines, releases, and delivery processes to balance speed with safety.
  • Mentor L1 and L2 engineers and contribute to code reviews, design docs, and pair programming.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engineering leadership to align the technical roadmap, reduce technical debt, and deliver new features.
  • Research and prototype improvements to Twilio’s API infrastructure to improve customer service.
  • Lead technical projects from conception to completion while communicating trade-offs and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Deep proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or another programming language.
  • Experience designing and deploying complex AWS cloud-native solutions at scale, including CloudFront, DNS, caching strategies, WAF, Lambda, S3, or multitenancy.
  • Advanced experience with Terraform, including writing custom providers or managing state across multiple environments.
  • Strong understanding of SLIs, SLOs, golden signals, error budgets, and monitoring strategies.
  • Experience using Datadog, Grafana, or Athena to support data-informed engineering decisions.
  • Strong background in microservices architecture, especially traffic routing, rate limiting, and service discovery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects from start to finish and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing security at scale, including WAF management, DDoS mitigation, and Zero Trust architectures, preferred.
  • Platform engineering experience and interest in building internal developer platforms, preferred.
  • Contributions to cloud-native or networking ecosystems, including public Terraform providers or open-source projects, preferred.
  • Remote role based in Spain.
  • Occasional travel for project or team in-person meetings may be required.
