Description

  • Lead implementation of extensions to the Signaloid Cloud Compute Engine backend.
  • Extend the testing and QA infrastructure for the backend.
  • Assess whether implementations meet explicit and implicit design and quality objectives.
  • Deliver new functionality and tests on a regular release schedule.
  • Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams on product delivery.
  • Design, implement, and document improvements to the Cloud Compute Engine API.
  • Contribute to improving operational procedures within the engineering team.
  • Help define the future direction of key parts of the Cloud Compute Engine.
  • Take on increasing strategy, autonomy, and leadership responsibility over time.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • More than 3 years of experience as a backend or cloud engineer.
  • Proficiency in one or more of TypeScript, Go, or Python.
  • Experience implementing REST APIs and writing API schemas.
  • Experience with AWS core services such as DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, VPC, EC2/ASG, and SQS.
  • Experience deploying scalable, production-grade cloud applications.
  • Experience with Git and proficiency using Linux.
  • Ability to work in an English-speaking environment.
  • Willingness to listen until others feel understood, with honesty, empathy, and openness to other viewpoints.
  • Experience working at a startup is desirable.
  • Experience with SOC 2 attestation and ISO 27001 certification is desirable.
  • Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and load testing (e.g., k6) is desirable.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development is desirable.
  • Some exposure to frontend development and comfort working outside the backend layer when needed is desirable.
  • Experience developing full-stack applications is desirable.
