Description

  • Lead end-to-end database migration initiatives from discovery and assessment through validation and post-migration stabilization.
  • Develop migration strategies, roadmaps, schedules, dependencies, rollback procedures, and cutover plans.
  • Assess source and target database environments to identify compatibility issues, data dependencies, technical risks, and migration constraints.
  • Select and apply appropriate migration approaches such as rehosting, re-platforming, refactoring, replication, bulk migration, and phased migration.
  • Coordinate structured migrations across on-premises, cloud, hybrid, relational, and non-relational database environments.
  • Lead migration rehearsals, dry runs, production cutovers, and post-migration validation activities.
  • Minimize downtime and data loss by using replication, change data capture, synchronization, and high-availability techniques.
  • Develop contingency plans and rollback procedures to support business continuity during migration events.
  • Analyze legacy database structures, including schemas, tables, relationships, stored procedures, triggers, views, indexes, and data types.
  • Perform schema mapping and conversion, and resolve differences in data types, naming conventions, constraints, indexing models, partitioning strategies, and database-specific functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of industry-related experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Experience performing security engineering functions.
  • Experience developing and modifying scripts.
  • Experience mapping inheritance and Common Control Catalogs.
  • Experience developing or tuning risk scoring.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, if required.
